Soak fruits and vegetables of all varieties in water for 5 minutes with 1-2 teaspoons of salt. Then, rinse to wash out the salt. Use a water-and-vinegar solution to soak produce of all varieties. Soak produce in a mixture of water and vinegar (1/2 cup distilled white vinegar per 2 cups of water) for 5-15 minutes.
